The Community Education Department initially comprised of three departments in one managed overall by one manager, but due to a restructure of the Adult Learning Service it has now become three separate departments. The changes are outlined below.

The Adult Learning Service is managed centrally from the head office in Hepscott Park. There is one manager for the Cramlington locality to oversee the provision of courses at Princess Louise Adult Learning Centre, Astley Community High School and Cramlington Senior Learning Village.

The Community Education department is managed at Astley Community High School by Ally Carr. The aim of this department is to provide quality leisure and pleasure classes to meet the needs of the community. You can ring us at any time. Our tutors will be more than happy to advise you which is the right course for you to ensure the time spent with us is a pleasurable experience.

The Youth Service appointed a Senior Youth Work Practitioner, Emma Rudd who is based at Astley to oversee the youth provision in the Seaton Valley area.
