SCHOOL FACILITIES

As a relatively small High School (839 pupils on roll in Autumn 2009), we know we can offer individual support and guidance to all young people. However, despite our size we have excellent facilities which we are continuing to upgrade.

• Excellent ICT provision throughout the school in addition to the specialist ICT suites.
• Swimming pool available for school and community use.
• Sports Hall and Gym
• Joint access library for school and community use
• Specialist suited teaching rooms
• Self service, cashless food court
• Lift access to first floor rooms for those with mobility difficulties
• Interactive white boards in most teaching rooms

In addition to our main site facilities we lease a farmhouse, Milkhope, in the Cheviot Hills near Alwinton. It is used by a variety of groups and all Year 9 pupils have the opportunity to use it and the surrounding forest area for camping and team building activities in the summer term.

COMMUNITY FACILITIES

Our Youth and Community operation offers a wide range of opportunities for adults and young people to make use of recreational facilities as well as an extensive list of evening classes. Our aim is to promote our community facility to be used all day, every day.
